Legal Assistant/Receptionist/Bookkeeper/Commissioner of Oaths
Chrissy was born in Watson, Saskatchewan but was raised in southern Manitoba. She moved to the Valley in 2007 with her husband and three children.
Chrissy worked at Spectra Credit Union in Redvers, SK before she moved and then had her own home daycare here in Swan River, so she could be home with her children. With her children growing up and her wanting to work out of the home, she worked at the Swan Valley Primary Care Centre for a few years before starting here at Oakes Law Office.
Chrissy spends her time following her kids in their various activities. When she's not travelling the Prairie Provinces she enjoys reading and spending time outdoors in the summer with her family.

Laurie A. E. Oakes
PROUD TO SERVE THE SWAN RIVER VALLEY, THE PAS AND AREA
Laurie was born and raised in Powerview-Pine Falls, Manitoba. She attended Law School at the University of Manitoba, graduating in 2002. She married her husband Michael following graduation and started her career in Dauphin, Manitoba as Michael was posted there as a member of the RCMP at the time. She practised in Dauphin, Powerview-Pine Falls and Winnipeg.
Prior to her move to the Swan River Valley she had been working as a lawyer for the City of Winnipeg. In early 2013, after 7 years of living and working in Winnipeg she and her husband made the decision that the City life wasn't for them and that they wanted to give their children the small town / rural upbringing they enjoyed as kids. They put their house up for sale and made the leap to move to the Valley where Michael's parents were already enjoying their retirement years.
When watching their daughter Ellie riding her horse in the pasture or their son Beau working on his fort beside the creek at their country home, they know they've made the right move.
Laurie is an animal lover, with two dogs, two cats and three horses. She also enjoys reading and travel. Laurie and her family are very happy to call the Valley their home.
